Disc Golf courses can only be compared to ball golf courses to a limited extent. Most Disc Golf courses are installed on public land, e.g. in parks or on green areas of larger sports facilities. With few exceptions, Disc Golf courses in Switzerland have permanently installed catch baskets.
The majority of the courses are managed by a local Disc Golf club.
