Disc Golf is a combination of the sports Golf and Frisbee. The game is played on a course with a series of holes, each with its own tee area and target. The objective is to compete the course with the fewest number of throws.

Glossary
Disc golf uses a wealth of specific terms to express itself more precisely about the sport. The most important terms are explained here so that you understand what others mean during your first round with friends:
PAR:The number of throws intended for a course is referred to as “par”.
TEE-PAD:The tee pad is the launching area at the start of a hole.
MANDO:Short for “mandatory”, an obstacle that must be played around in a certain way.
DROPZONE:If a mando is not played around correctly, play must continue from the marked drop zone.
OB:Short for “out of bounds”, i.e. a penalty area outside the playing area.
HYZER:Launch angle of the disc with the outer edge of the disc facing the ground.
ANHYZER:Launch angle of the disc with the outer edge of the disc facing the sky.
BACKHAND:A type of throw in which the disc is guided on the inside of the body in front of the chest.
FOREHAND:A type of throw in which the disc is guided on the outside of the body by rotating the elbow.
ROLLER:A type of throw in which the disc hits the ground shortly after release and continues to roll.
OVERSTABLE:A disc whose trajectory tends towards a hyzer.
UNDERSTABLE:A disc whose trajectory tends towards an anhyzer.
ACE:The disc lands in the basket after the first throw from the tee pad, i.e. a “hole-in-one”.
