If you have decided to start competing and are new to the sport, the following information will help you to get your bearings.
Registration for a Swisstour tournament takes place on the respective platform set up for the tournament by the tournament director. You can find the link and the start date for registration in the tournament calendar.
The game is played according to the latest PDGA rules. It is the duty of all participants to know and apply these. In addition, the requirements of the SDA tournament regulations apply.
The player license is required for all tournaments sanctioned by the association (Swisstour, Swiss Championship). This is available as an annual license from an SDA-affiliated club or as an annual individual license from the association directly. If no annual license has been purchased, a tournament license is required for each of the above-mentioned tournaments. This license must be purchased by players who are resident in Switzerland. A PDGA license is not sufficient. For participants from abroad, a membership in their national association or a current PDGA membership is sufficient.
For the most part, disc golf is played without the supervision of a referee. The sport relies on the integrity of each individual and their intention to be considerate of other players and abide by the rules. Every player should behave in a disciplined manner and remain polite and fair at all times, regardless of the competitive situation in which they find themselves.
Point out rule violations to others! Accept it when others do it to you! It’s nothing personal, those are the rules.
